Last updated: January 10, 2017
ISSUE
After installing a recent security update, KB3128008, or after updating the Click-To-Run version of Office 2013 to build 15.0.4885.1001, Excel 2013 customers see the following error when they try to send a workbook using the File > Share > Email > Send as PDF or File > Share > Email > Send as XPScommands.
"General mail failure. Quit Microsoft Excel, restart the mail system, and try again."
STATUS: FIXED
On January 10, 2017, we released an Office 2013 update that fixes this issue.
  • If you receive Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based updates for Office 2013, download and install the January 10, 2017, update for Excel 2013 (KB3141475).
  • If you receive Click-to-Run updates for Office 2013, update to version 15.0.4893.1002. You can either wait until you’re prompted to install the update or get it immediately by clicking File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
